Why volunteer?
Spending time helping the work of Alma Mater Education is incredibly rewarding. Volunteers are involved in many ways:
Raising vital funds through running events, sports challenges, selling items on ebay - you name it, its been done!
Visiting Ghana and supporting the students and teachers
Helping with the running of the charity through help with social media, marketing, operations and networking
Run a special project that supports the needs of the school and aligns with UCAS or School educational requirements e.g. engineering a drip irrigation system for our farm
“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” — Mahatma Gandhi
Volunteering in Ghana can be a varied and rewarding experience and could involve the following:
Sports coaching and team activities
Music, arts and creative workshops
Reading and literacy support
IT and digital skills
Maths and science support
Leadership and mentoring sessions
Girls’ empowerment initiatives
Sustainable agriculture and environmental projects
