The School Meal Programme

Farm to fork, for fresh minds

Our school is situated in an area that experiences a considerable dry season, during which families often have to cut down on their meals to ration food. It is vitally important that pupils are not hungry when trying to study, which is why we place a huge emphasis on providing school meals.

All staff and students are given breakfast, a hot, nutritious lunch and supper every school day. Currently about 60% of the produce we use comes from our farm, and we are constantly working towards full self-sufficiency.

Good quality food

Every day our wonderful team of four chefs feed our 480 students and staff three meals a day. Utilising fresh organic produce from the school farm as well as donations from the Ghana Education System (GES), every child is set up for learning with three nutritious and well-balanced meals a day.

Our Farm

The school’s organic farm has become an integral part of the project in recent years, primarily for the provision of fresh produce for our school-meals programme and home-economics department, but also more recently by raising vital revenue for the charity by adopting a more commercial approach to the use of its land.
