Our School
Alma Mater Education’s first school is situated in a very rural location about 1½ hours from the city of Kumasi, in the Ashanti region of Ghana. Now in its seventh academic year, it provides comprehensive secondary education for 300 students across three year groups, with 220 of them living full-time in on-site boarding facilities.
Wioso Senior High teaches 300 pupils per year with 220 of them living in on-site in boarding facilities.
The School Meals Programme
Our school is situated in an area that experiences a considerable dry season, during which families often have to cut down on their meals to ration food. It is vitally important that pupils are not hungry when trying to study, which is why we place a huge emphasis on providing school meals.
Facilities
We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved in the six years since conception. Wioso Senior High began as a single classroom block, to which we added further classrooms, then a boarding house, a science lab, a home-economics lab and just recently, following our #farmtofork2020 a new kitchen and food storage facility.
