We are excited to invite you on our Alma Mater Education London to Paris bike ride 2017. It’s a great opportunity to support the charity, stretch your legs on a famously beautiful ride and meet likeminded people on the way.

What’s included?

We pride ourselves on being able to provide a good time. The support that you give allows us to push forward, providing good quality free education the most disadvantaged communities in rural Africa. In return for your support and hard work, we provide everything you need to make your ride as fun and comfortable as possible.

Entry fee for this event is £500 and we ask all riders to raise a minimum £1000 sponsorship (we can help set up an online giving page and offer fundraising support, tips and suggestions). 100% of your sponsorship contribution is guaranteed to go directly to our school in Ghana.

For this we provide:

  • All accommodation for the trip.
  • All food, including breakfast, lunch and dinner. This includes the evening meal in Paris on the 4th day. Food on the last day in Paris is not provided.
  • Basic medical and mechanical support.
  • Ferry and Eurostar travel.
  • Fun times.

A deposit of £150 is required on registration. The remaining balance of £350 is then payable no less than 8 weeks before the event. The sponsorship commitment is then £1000 payable to the charity.

The Ride

Our four-day ride from London to Paris is a great opportunity to complete a fully assisted charity bike ride to support rural education in Ghana

Welcome to the Alma Mater London to Paris 2017 bike ride. The 300 mile journey across southern England and Northern France is famous for it’s beauty. It is a massive challenge, but for those prepared to do a bit of training and did deep when the going gets tough, the reward is definitely worth it. Unlike most other charity rides, we limit our numbers to ensure riders are well looked after, feel part of the AME team and most importantly, enjoy the ride.

Riders will have every aspect of the trip organised and pre arranged. This includes all support, accommodation, food and transport. As long as you have a bike and some determination, we take care of everything else, so you can take in the views and enjoy the journey.

The route stretches 300 miles from South East London to the Eiffel Tower in Central Paris, winding through country roads and magnificent countryside.

Day 1: London to Calais – 95 miles

We begin our route in South London bright and early. After escaping London, our route takes us through the beautiful Kent countryside before we board the ferry in Dover. We say goodbye to the island and head for Europe. Our first evening in spent in a hotel in Calais.

Day 2: Calais to Abbeville – 75 miles

Now in France, we are able to enjoy the rolling fields of Northern France. Cycling through market towns and small villages hugging river valleys, we end up at our second stop in Abbeville.

Day 3: Abbeville to Beauvais – 70 miles

Leaving Abbeville, our journey follows the river Somme. Although the Somme is famous for its part in the First World War, our third day is typified by tranquil back roads. Our third evening is spent in Beauvais, home to a beautiful market square and a 13th century Cathedral.

Day 4: Beauvais to Paris – 60 miles

The final day is the last push towards Paris. Before we hit the city, we are treated to great views of the river Seine and beautiful countryside, right up to the suburbs and parks of North Paris. It is a short ride into the city centre, along the boulevards, into the finish line at the Eiffel tower. In the evening, a group meal gives an opportunity to share stories, photos, and relax, all on us.

Day 5: Paris to London on the Eurostar

After a good night’s sleep, you have the opportunity to explore the city for the day. The Eurostar takes us back to the heart of London and after a fond farewell, you are free to gloat to your friends and family about how fit, athletic and philanthropic you are. Congratulations, you deserve it.

We offer a selection of payment options to suit you.

Option 1 - Pay the deposit now, securing your place on the ride. You then pay the Registration balance between now and 8 weeks before the start of the event.

Option 2 - Pay the full registration fee now. This covers your ride

The sponsorship covers the money that makes its way to the school project in Ghana. This can be made any time between now and 1 week prior to the start of the event. This payment can be made in the 'Sponsorship section'

Join us on an amazing ride for a great cause.
